Music educator, mentor, and cheerleader for every student

Meet Jesse Davlin:

Hi! I’m Jesse, the heart behind The Staccato Cactus Music School. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—I started piano lessons at the age of four, guitar at twelve, and voice lessons at fifteen. Growing up, music was my constant companion and greatest joy. I never imagined it would turn into my life’s work until a community college counselor saw me constantly attending karaoke nights and open mic events. She suggested I explore music theory classes, and everything changed from there.

I quickly found myself tutoring my classmates in music theory, and it clicked—I loved helping others discover the joy and satisfaction of learning music. This passion led me to pursue an associate degree in fine arts and later a bachelor’s in music education. Along the way, I realized teaching wasn’t just about notes and rhythms—it was about helping students find their voice, build their confidence, and fall in love with the process.

At The Staccato Cactus Music School, I bring that same passion for learning and teaching to every lesson. My approach is rooted in patience and encouragement, with a focus on tailoring lessons to each student’s goals and learning style. Whether you’re a beginner learning your first chord or an experienced musician refining your craft, I’m here to help you thrive in a way that feels fun and achievable.

When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me exploring new music styles, attending live performances, or enjoying the beauty of the Southwest. I truly believe music is for everyone—it’s a skill that grows with you, just like a cactus in the desert.

Let’s work together to nurture your musical journey. I can’t wait to see you grow, flourish, and make music you love. Welcome to The Staccato Cactus Music School!

Starting your musical journey is easy!

Begin by filling out our short online inquiry form, where you’ll share details like the student’s age, music experience, preferred instrument (voice, guitar, ukulele, accordion, or piano), and favorite style of music. This helps us create a personalized lesson plan tailored to the student’s interests, skill level, and goals.

After reviewing your form, I’ll reach out for a quick call to discuss the student’s musical aspirations, finalize a weekly lesson time, and arrange the first month’s payment. On the initial lesson day, all required materials—sheet music, books, and a lesson journal—will be provided, so you can focus on learning and having fun!
